About this record
Released on May 11, 2018, Die Lit is the debut studio album by Playboi Carti, a project that captures the raw energy and rebellious spirit of a new wave in hip-hop. Known for its hypnotic beats, minimalist flows, and heavy use of ad-libs, the album is a vibrant fusion of trap and punk-inspired attitude. Produced largely by Pierre Bourne, Die Lit features collaborations with artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, and Chief Keef, while Carti’s signature carefree style ties it all together. The album explores themes of youth, luxury, and chaos, resonating with fans for its unpolished yet electrifying sound, and it debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200, cementing Carti’s influence on modern rap.
