Shadowbox

Since his 2019 debut album Let The Sun Talk caught the attention of listeners around the globe, Mavi has become one of the leading lights of hip-hop’s next generation. Subtly molding his fascinating stream of consciousness into a fluid mosaic of elaborately interlocking rhymes, the Charlotte, North Carolina emcee has gone on to amass millions of streams, tour nationally and internationally, work with artists like Earl Sweatshirt and Alchemist, and see his music championed by Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, NPR, and more. These accomplishments flow from the powerful resonance of deeply personal artistry and raw poetic talent. Mavi's latest album Shadowbox is his most fully realized work to date, exploring the nuances of new experiences and perspectives within substantive layers of abstraction and metaphor. With atmospheric soundscapes illuminating the oceanic depth in Mavi's intricate lyrics, the acclaimed collection is a compelling step forward from a visionary young artist. After much anticipation, Shadowbox is now available on vinyl for the first time ever.
