Open Soul

The ultimate collector’s record, sought after by soul, funk, and rare groove freaks around the world, is finally reissued on red vinyl! Among the treasures in the collection of Sadar Bahar, one of the world’s most renowned collectors and DJs, this album stands out as an absolute gem—featuring the monumental funk masterpiece "Open Soul", an essential heavy-play track! Originally released in 1976 on Chicago’s local label, Stage Productions, this is the sole album by a six-piece soul band led by the Burton brothers. The original pressing is incredibly scarce, rarely appearing on the market, and when it does, it consistently fetches over $1,000—making it one of the most sought-after collector’s records of all time! The album’s standout track, "OPEN SOUL" (B1), is a breathtaking 20-minute funk odyssey that takes up the entire B-side. Other highlights include the ultimate funky tune "Let’s Get With The Beat" (A5) and the killer instrumental "Hurt Perversion" (A3), making this an absolute must-have from start to finish!
