+ ou - 8000

Long kept in the shadows, + Ou – 8000 is a lost gem of the French avant-garde—an unclassifiable fusion of library music, space jazz, and early electronic exploration. Originally created as a sound illustration project, the album transcended its purpose, emerging as a visionary statement in sonic abstraction and ambient futurism.

At the core are three inventive minds:

Teddy Lasry, a cornerstone of the MAGMA universe, pushes beyond jazz and progressive rock to explore shimmering synthscapes and spatial textures.

Francis Mercier, a master of understated rhythm, brings sharp, minimal grooves and tense atmospheres typical of the best 1970s French library music.

Christian Perraudin, with a background in both academic composition and film music, adds depth through cinematic moods, melancholic harmonies, and sci-fi undertones.

+ Ou – 8000 feels like a secret soundtrack to a surreal expedition—its analog synths, ambient flourishes, and genre-defying structures make it a vital listen for collectors and sonic explorers alike.

Now reissued on vinyl for the first time, this limited edition is a rare opportunity to (re)experience one of the most enigmatic and forward-thinking projects of its era.
